Saving On Pet Care
Today I want to talk about saving on pet care. I have 2 large breed dogs and a cat so I know how expensive it can get to buy pet food and supplies. With so many different options out there it's hard to know when you are getting the best deal. After some time researching and shopping around I came up with some great ways to save.
1. Chewy.com: Chewy offers lots of great deals and coupons for new customers. You can subscribe to monthly or weekly deliveries so you never run out. One of my favorite things about Chewy, is their shipping speed. Sometimes I get my dog food delivered to my door the next day. I use Blue Buffalo Dog food and have compared prices between several sites and stores. They cost the same amount as Amazon but shipping can be a little faster. You can also use RakutenEbates to get 3% cash back on your initial purchase. Plus, if you are new to RakutenEbates, you get $10 cashback on your first purchase!
2. Amazon: Amazon's subscribe and save option gives you a 5-20% Discount for subscribe and save orders. You can also get an additional 10% off your first subscribe and save order. I love that I can cancel anytime or skip deliveries.
3. Using coupons and a brick and mortar store. This is always a the best option but pet food sales aren't very predictable and you may end up in a pinch when you run out and there are no good sales or coupons available. If this is your go to saving method, make sure to buy when they are on sale even if you don't quite need that 30 lbs bag of dog food for a couple more weeks. Buy now and save later. With that said, you have a lot of options as far as collecting coupons. I signed up for freshstep paw points to save on kitty litter. Their clumping litter saves me a lot in the long run. You can earn points for each box or bag purchased and redeem for coupons. Coupons.com and Purina.com are great resources for printing coupons. Also, watch for pet coupons in the Sunday paper.
